Last night I was watching the recorded highlights of the match played against England and West Indies in the Super8 stage of the World Cup. For some reason I didn't watch it LIVE on that day it was played. One highlight of that match was the brilliant catch that was taken by Paul Collingwood to dismiss Devon Smith off the bowling of Andrew Flintoff. IMO thats the best catch ever that I have seen someone take. Take a look at this for a catch. The ball goes to his left but he goes for it with his right hand going across to his left shoulder and plucks it out of the air. Its amazing.

The interesting thing is that when I heard the commentator say that he has taken a similar catch on a previous occasion. So more digging and I found this out. It was against the Aussies to dismiss Matthew Hayden off the bowling of Steve Harmison. Watch it and you will be amazed. He has a habit of taking these catches in this fashion.

Paul Collingwood is a great player to watch. He is a great improviser with the bat and can bowl tidily as well. More than anything he is one of the best fielders in the world today. I'm sure he is in the making of being the best ever.
