Aussie paceman Jason Gillespie became the first nightwatchman to score a double century in Test Cricket when he scored 201 in the final Test Match against Bangladesh. Aussies won the Test as well as the series 2-0 and Gillespie was the awarded both Man of the Match and Man of the Series awards. Gillespie, the key paceman who hasn't scored a century before was able to get to 200 showing great amount of concentration facing more than 400 balls.
Gillespie who was dropped after the Ashes series has made his way in and proved himself in the bowling department. But his batting has been truly unbelievable. I have seen him bat well in most times down the order. But getting a double and beating highest scores of few leading Aussie players is quite an achievment. Micheal Hussey AKA Mr.Cricket who scored 182 in that innings put up a 320 run partnership with Gillespie has reminded Gillespie when he went passed the top scores of few leading players. Here is that list. Big names
Mark Waugh – 153
Michael Clarke – 151
Steve Waugh – 200
David Boon – 200
Hussey actually wanted to be in the leading run while batting with Gillespie but unfortunately has got out for 182.
